The bushfire crisis is unprecedented. But experts tell us that this is the new normal.

It's hard not to feel overwhelmed by the scale and the stories coming out of the disaster.

There's a lot of bad – but I wanted to share some of the good.

Yesterday I visited Adelaide Koala Rescue – a local community group caring for more than 100 injured or orphaned koalas.

Operating out of a school gym, these volunteers are giving up their time to care for some of our littlest and furriest Australians. But they can't do it alone.
