Smiles
One of the Grateful Dead’s more amazing covers/adaptations is the apocalyptic song, “Morning Dew,” written by Canadian folk artist Bonnie Dobson about a fictional conversation in a post-nuclear holocaust world. Not exactly a smile, but the Dead made it one by pouring all of their emotional intensity into the tune. This version of “Morning Dew” by Phil Lesh and Friends posted today. With Nicki Bluhm on vocals, Phil on bass, Jason Crosby on violin and Marcus King and Eric Krasno on guitars, it really is a smile. |
