One week ago, Tammy’s bill to protect marriage equality, the Respect for Marriage Act, passed in the Senate with strong bipartisan support!
This brings us one step closer to protecting the rights and freedoms of same-sex and interracial couples.
But before the Respect for Marriage Act becomes the law of the land, it needs to go back to the House of Representatives for a vote, then to President Joe Biden’s desk for his signature.
We’re calling on Congress to vote on this bill ASAP — we’ve waited too long to pass federal protections for marriage equality. And we’ve already heard from so many couples who can sleep a little better knowing their marriage will be protected by federal law.
