John,
Ten years ago this month, the Supreme Court made the monumental Citizens United decision which unjustly ruled that corporations and foreign governments are people. The effects of this ruling on our political system have been devastating. With billions of dollars of dark money flooding campaigns, Washington, D.C. is now filled with too many politicians beholden to corporate interests rather than the people they represent. If we truly want our government to reflect the needs and interests of everyday people, then we must end the influence of millions of dollars coming from anonymous sources and swaying our elections. That's why I'm calling for a constitutional amendment to end the Citizens United ruling. Are you with me? Join me in the fight to get dark money out of politics. Add your name if you agree it's time to pass a constitutional amendment overturning Citizens United >> I've always refused corporate PAC money so my constituents know I'm working for them, not D.C. lobbyists. And after I was elected, the first bill my Democratic House colleagues and I passed was the For the People Act, sweeping legislation to reform our elections, fight corruption, disclose funding sources, and return our democracy to the people. But we still have a lot of work to do before we can create a government that works for our families and not just special interests like the gun lobby, the fossil fuel industry, and big pharma -- and it starts with ending the disastrous Citizens United decision. Will you join me in the fight to overturn Citizens United? Add your name next to mine right now. Thanks, Kim Contributions or gifts to Dr. Kim Schrier for Congress are not tax deductible.
