I have a simple favor to ask you today. Please help me honor the legacy of those who have fought for our rights.

We may face voter suppression and nasty GOP tricks from Gov. Kemp and the legislature, but those who went before us faced clubs, fists, fire hoses, and worse. We cannot let their sacrifices be in vain.

So if you’re a registered Georgia voter who has not yet voted in the runoff, please make a plan to cast your ballot today at your polling place by 7pm.

If you have already voted, please contact your family and friends to make sure they have voted or have a plan to do so. If you’re able to do it, help them carry out their plan.

If you’re not a Georgia voter, reach out to any people in your life who are. Offer to help them find a way to vote today if they haven’t already.

Democracy isn’t just the pulling of a lever or the checking of a box. It’s a way that we all look out for each other and ensure that our neighbors have what they need. So I’m asking you today not just to defend democracy, but to live it.
