Hi John,
Senator Manchin is once again trying to pass his Dirty Deal. We stopped it
once, now we need to fight hard to stop it again.
This time, he’s trying to attach the deal to the National Defense
Authorization Act. John,
this is another classic attempt by Big Oil
to sneak fossil fuel expansion through must-pass legislation.
This cannot stand, but we have a short window to stop the Dirty Deal from
passing. [ [link removed] ]Can you take two minutes right now to call your Congressmember and Senators and
tell them to oppose Manchin’s Dirty Deal? We’ve included a script you can

“Hi, my name is ____, and I’m from ____. As your constituent, I'm deeply
concerned about any legislation that would fast-track fossil fuel
projects, hurt our climate, and sacrifice communities.
I’m urging you to vote NO on any rule that would advance Manchin’s dirty
pipeline deal.”

In September, the climate movement stood up to Senator Manchin and Senator
Schumer and defeated this dirty side deal that would undermine our bedrock
environmental laws, fast-track fossil fuel projects like the Mountain
Valley Pipeline, and sacrifice environmental justice.
Unfortunately, during the final weeks of this Congress, lawmakers are
attempting to revive the Dirty Deal. The House is poised to vote as early
as this morning on a rule that would attach Manchin’s deal to Congress’
annual defense bill. New handouts to the fossil fuel industry are
unacceptable during a climate crisis; it's critical that we keep up the
pressure.
It’s time to kill the Dirty Deal for good.
[ [link removed] ]John,
please contact your Congressmember and Senators today and
tell them to block any legislation that includes Manchin’s Dirty Deal.
