Hi John,

Tomorrow, December 7, the Supreme Court is hearing arguments in Moore v. Harper – a dangerous power grab that could wreak havoc on our democracy.
North Carolina lawmakers want the Supreme Court to grant them unchecked power when it comes to federal elections — even if that state’s Supreme Court rules that their laws violate the state constitution.

The Court’s blessing of this manufactured “independent state legislature theory” would open the door for legislative anti-democracy agendas of voter suppression and gerrymandering across the nation, and even carve a path for overturning the will of the people in a presidential election.

We need your voice at the U.S. Supreme Court to send an unmistakable message: we won’t tolerate lawless lawmakers trying to take away our rights!

Alliance for Justice will join hosts Common Cause and the Southern Coalition for Social Justice, as well as many other allied groups, tomorrow morning outside the Court. We hope to see you there.
