Dear friend –
In solidarity with Amazonian Indigenous peoples defending their rights and keeping standing forests standing, generous donors have offered to match all donations made through December 31, up to $225,000!
100% of your gift today will go to our program work!
In the coming months, your support will:
- help recognize 100 million acres of Indigenous territories, including Yasuní National Park in Ecuador, Putumayo in Colombia, Achuar and Wampis territories in northern Peru, and the Tapajós and Xingu regions in Brazil.
- advance policies to exclude the Amazon biome from extractive activities and destruction;
- be distributed directly to Indigenous communities and organizations via solidarity grants to support Indigenous leadership, safety and security, and self-determination;
- and uplift Indigenous women’s leadership, cultural preservation initiatives, collective economies, and movement-building.
When you give today, you lay the foundation for seeing Indigenous solutions across the finish line in the new year. Thank you for your support, which will be matched by your fellow donors in solidarity with Indigenous peoples of Amazonía!
With gratitude and hope,
Leila Salazar-López
Executive Director
P.S. Did you know that there are many ways you can support the work of Amazon Watch and our Indigenous partners? You can start a peer-to-peer fundraiser, or donate stock, or via a Donor-Advised Fund, or an IRA distribution. You can purchase a t-shirt or become a business sponsor. Or both! We rely on our grassroots supporters to fund our work, and we're so grateful for everything you do!
