Friends,

9 years ago today, Congresswoman Gabby Giffords was hosting a constituent event near Tucson, AZ, when a gunman opened fire. 6 people were killed during the attack and 14 wounded, including Rep. Giffords, who miraculously survived.

As a champion for a safer America, Gabby Giffords has worked unwaveringly to enact common-sense gun reforms to prevent similar tragedies. I have been proud to be in this fight with Gabby to enact bipartisan gun violence reforms which will make our families safer.

Tragically, the Tucson shooting is just one in a long line of mass shootings that have left communities across the United States devastated. And until we take serious action to curb gun violence, there will only be more of these tragedies.

97% of Americans support stronger gun laws. I have worked on bipartisan legislation that would strengthen background checks and make Americans safer.

Yet Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell refuses to bring critical gun violence prevention legislation up for a vote in the Senate.

On today’s anniversary, I hope you will join me in honoring those lives lost in Tucson and to gun violence since, and call on the Senate to pass gun violence prevention laws that will save lives. >>>

Thank you for taking action today to make our country safer.
Susan Wild
