Times are hard out here as we get ready for the Christmas season. In Florida, just like every other state in this nation, families are struggling because of extremely high gas prices, runaway inflation and the rising cost of living.

I’ve been operating my food bank for 20 years and I’ve got to say, it’s never been as hard as it is right now for people. The lines get longer every week. Now at Christmas time, it breaks my heart more than usual.

I hear stories of fixed-income families not even able to buy small gifts for their kids because they’re struggling to get by. The government talks about how great things are going in our economy but we all know that is a lie. I see it every single day.

I’m reaching out to you because I know that you’ve got a big heart just like me and you want to help families this Christmas season. Curley’s House, my food bank, has been helping this community for 20+ years. This Christmas season, though, we’re going to need to raise some extra funds to help these people out some more.

Most years we buy toys and things for the kids so they can have something under their tree. We might have to cut that part this year because things are too high, but we’re going to try and not do that. I need to raise about $2,400 extra so we can go out and get some toys for these kids to have something under their tree.

That’s my goal: $2,400.
