I am thrilled to share some fantastic news regarding new additions to the Emgage family and promotions aimed at bolstering our organizing and advocacy capacity! Mohamed Gula will now be serving as Emgage's National Organizing Director, Aysha Ahmed will be serving as the National Deputy Organizing Director, and Richard Evans will join us to serve as the Emgage Texas Legislative Director.
In charge of developing and implementing a national organizing plan, Mohamed will be working with partners across all 50 states for voter mobilization to build political power for the Muslim American community, administering our 'One Million Muslim Voter' organizing program, and driving volunteer recruitment and candidate engagement. Mohamed will also continue to serve as Executive Director for Emgage Virginia.
Working with the National Organizing Director to develop and implement a national organizing plan, Aysha will manage regional partners of the 'Emgage in a Box' program - to meet regional voter contact and capacity-building goals - and conduct coaching with partners on best practices for team building and development. Her organizing experience began in 2016 as an organizer for the Hillary for America Presidential campaign. Aysha also served as the Emgage Programs and Operations Manager, where she managed national events, develop operational infrastructure for Emgage state chapters, and supported chapter activities on the ground.
Working with the Emgage Texas team to develop and implement a plan to impact public policy issues before the Texas legislature, Richard will be working to build relationships with organizations aligned with our mission, and supporting fundraising initiatives. His experience spans 30 years as a legislative staffer, trade association lobbyist, and independent government affairs consultant.
Sincerely,
Wa'el Alzayat
Emgage CEO
