Hello,

This week's edition looks at how to realize there is more to you than you think. Matt Ridley and I go in-depth to explore the Covid-19 outbreak.  Also, from the archives, the difference between knowing and understanding.

There Is More To You Than You Think

You are in a crooked, horrible position. Okay, fine. There is a lot of suffering and pain associated with that. You cannot just feel good about that because it is not good.

But you can do something about it. You can genuinely do something about it. And I think all the evidence suggests that is the case.

So, I am telling young people, “Look, no matter how bad your situation is, I am not going to pretend it is okay. It is tragic, tainted with malevolence, and some people really get hurt by malevolent people; sometimes they never recover. But there is more to you than you think.

And if you stand up and face it with a positive and noble vision, with discipline and intent, you can go far farther to overcoming it than you can imagine.

And that is the principle upon which you should predicate your behavior.

Monday Reflections

"You have to figure out what you want and then you have to figure out how to decompose what you want into actionable steps." (Share this on Twitter)

"God only knows how tough you are. You know, I mean if you read history and you read about what people have done, you think 'wow we are pretty tough people.' " (Share this on Twitter)

"Where are you not what you could be? When you realize that it will take you apart a little bit and burn you down to your core a little bit and then allow you to regenerate and if you do that continually, then everything that you don't need burns away." (Share this on Twitter)

This Week On The Podcast

Viral: The Origin of Covid-19 | Matt Ridley | #310

Matt Ridley and I go in-depth to explore the Covid-19 outbreak, scrutinizing the lack of criticism, the inherent red flags widely accepted as benign, the possible motive for a multi-government cover-up, and ultimately the demise of the scientific enlightenment as it bends to a more fearsome pandemic: totalitarianism.

Knowing Versus Understanding | Jordan B Peterson

Dr. Peterson:
"There is a very large amount that we do not know about the structure of experience, that we do not know about reality. And we have our articulated representations of the world and then you could think outside of that there are things we know absolutely nothing about."
