Dear John,

December offers a chance to reflect on the past year and those we love. Many of us may be thinking even more about those who are no longer with us. It can be a month filled with conflicting emotions that are difficult to manage and express.

WAVE hopes to offer support this month. Whether you are struggling or wish to provide strength to others, we invite you to two vigils this week to honor and remember victims of violence. Both events welcome all who want to attend.

Vigil for Gun Violence Victims in Appleton, Wisconsin
Wednesday, December 7, 2022
6:00 pm
Houdini Plaza, 111 College Avenue, Appleton, WI 54911

WAVE Educational Fund, ESTHER-Fox Valley, and Moms Demand Action-WI are co-sponsoring this vigil in solidarity with Sandy Hook Promise to commemorate ten years since the Sandy Hook Elementary School tragedy. Attendees will honor all victims and survivors of gun violence across our nation.

Afterward, there will be an opportunity to have conversations and pay-as-you-go coffee at Copper Rock Coffeehouse across the street.

Victims of Gun Violence Candlelight Vigil in Milwaukee, Wisconsin
Saturday, December 10, 2022
10:30 am - 1:00 pm
Brown Deer Event Center, 8653 W. Brown Deer Rd, Milwaukee, WI 53224

The Donovan Hines Foundation of Exuberance dedicates this event to honoring and remembering all victims of violence in Milwaukee. Other vigils to remember victims of gun violence will be held across the state and nation this month. You can find a more comprehensive list on the Newtown Action Alliance website

Even if you cannot attend these remembrances, please know that we hold you in our hearts if you have experienced loss.

With care,

Heidi
