The Trevor Project

Friend,

It’s officially December, and holiday lights, parties, and celebrations are here. While it can be a heartwarming season for some, the holiday season can create heightened anxiety and stress for many. Non-affirming families, friends, and spaces can lead to higher rates of holiday-related anxiety and stress for LGBTQ young people.

This month and all year long, The Trevor Project is here day and night for every single young person who needs us. But this holiday season, we want to show up and send extra special notes to LGBTQ young people to let them know that they’re not alone — in fact, they’re deeply loved.

JOIN US TO WRITE A LETTER TO LGBTQ YOUTH

So many LGBTQ young people struggling during the holidays could be helped by the power of your words. A note that lets them know they’re loved, they’re seen, they’re valued for exactly who they are can go a long way. Remember, Friend: your words have power.

For inspiration, imagine you’re writing to a loved one or even your younger self, like our friend Jojo Siwa did:

A quote by JoJo Siwa is included: “Little me: be yourself, because everyone else is taken. And when you’re having a bad day, know that it's okay to be different and that there are so many accepting and loving people out there who support you. Just continue to smile and spread happiness, that’s what matters.”
WRITE YOUR OWN LETTER OF SUPPORT

Throughout December, we’ll be sharing a few messages we received from our community and special guests, like our friend JoJo. LGBTQ young people and our dedicated supporters (like you, Friend) will be among the first to see these special words of encouragement.

Thank you for being part of The Trevor Project community. Now, more than ever, we need as many people as possible to be unequivocal in their support of LGBTQ young people. We need to be dedicated to creating a more loving, more affirming, more safe world for young people. We hope you’ll join us with a letter of support to LGBTQ young people today.

We appreciate you,
The Trevor Project
