During the election it became clear that misinformation and harassment from extremist groups has become mainstream in Nebraska. I know I was not the only target and we need an organization dedicated to combating and creating legal and financial consequences for it. No longer can we let extremists spread misinformation, influence the outcome of our elections, and engage in illegal activity with impunity.
That is why we are excited to announce the official launch of Nebraska Legal Action Fund (NLAF) today!
We are a group of attorneys and advocates who are dedicated to fighting extremism and misinformation against educators, public officials, election officials, and members of the LGBTQ community. NLAF will use all the legal tools at our disposal to protect Nebraskans and expose extremists, their tactics, their supporters, and misinformation.
The Nebraska Legal Action Fund will have three distinct activities: 1) Legal action, 2) education, and 3) investigations. We are looking for attorneys, public officials, web developers, researchers and educators to join our effort. Nebraskans of all political backgrounds are urged to join us today:
