Friend,

New year. New decade. Bigger challenge.

2020 is here! The legislature is back at work in Sacramento, and we have
one clear message for them: we must go bigger and bolder than ever to
combat our climate crisis.
[ Take ]Take action now: urge the legislature to take large-scale,
transformative climate action today »

Friend, this is the decade for bold climate action. Business as
usual just won’t do.
This is why we are urging our lawmakers to lead on legislation that:

* Prepares our workforce for a clean energy economy
* Transitions our infrastructure to prepare for worsening climate
impacts
* Protects our communities from pollution: clean air, clean water, free
of toxic chemicals, access to recycling
* Keeps communities more resilient from climate impacts like extreme
heat, sea level rise, flooding, and wildfires
* Protects natural resources and open spaces

California and the world are facing devastating wildfires, costly disaster
recovery, rapidly changing weather patterns and pollution that endangers
our precious lands, wildlife, and public health. Let’s be clear: these
impacts have been felt in Black, Indigenous, and communities of color for
far too long. CLCV is committed to working with our partners in ensuring
environmental justice is prioritized in climate policy.
That’s why we’re doubling down on our efforts to organize and hold our
legislators accountable to large-scale, transformative climate action NOW
-- and we need you with us.
[ Take ]Sign the petition: urge the legislature to drastically transition our
infrastructure, transportation, buildings, and economy to prepare for
what’s to come.

Our leaders in California must step up and embrace that we’re not living
in ordinary times. We cannot settle for ordinary solutions.

This is no longer about the future, Friend. If we’re serious
about protecting our world as we know it, we need to act now. Every day.
Every hour. Right now.

[ Take ]Add your name to tell the legislature this is serious. We need to act
now. »

Thank you for taking action,

We believe that radical change is necessary and only by transforming our political system will we create the opportunity to take bold action on climate change. We elect and cultivate environmental champions, turn election victories into policy wins, hold our lawmakers accountable, and build political power for change. We inspire hope and action and fight for equity and justice for all Californians. We are in the business of changing what’s possible.
