Friend,
If ever there has been a year to ban assault weapons, this is it. 2022 has seen assault weapons kill elementary students in Uvalde and terrorize patriotic celebrations in Highland Park. Here in Pennsylvania, we felt their deadly power at a mass shooting in Unityville in rural Northeast PA a few weeks ago. [1]
With weeks before gun extremists take control of the U.S. House of Representatives, we’re part of an all-out push to ban assault weapons. Will you add your name? [[link removed]]
ADD YOUR NAME: BAN ASSAULT WEAPONS [[link removed]]
The uniquely American epidemic of mass shootings is driven by the easy access to military-style assault weapons. Anyone can walk into a store and minutes to hours later, walk out with a weapon of war that can cause mass devastation in seconds.
It’s teaching a generation to prepare to hide under their desks. It’s forcing us all to feel the need for security guards at our houses of worship, and to worry that we may not return home from a visit to the grocery store. We don’t have to live like this. We should be able to live free from this fear.
We have only weeks remaining for the current Congress to restore a national ban on assault weapons. It's past time for the U.S. Senate to act. [[link removed]]
The U.S. House has already passed the bill, and President Biden has committed to signing it – we just need the U.S. Senate to act. Together, we can make it happen.
Sincerely,
Adam Garber
