December 6 @ 7PM ET and 7PM CT: Missing Voices: Teaching Primary Sources from Black Authors in the History Classroom
Abstract: This webinar will be hosted by Rachel Davison Humphries and Anika Prather and will walk through BRI's Black History resource Plainest Demands of Justice. The resources uses the Declaration of Independence as its foundation and traces natural rights from the colonial era through the present day. It includes over 100 primary source excerpts and a culminating assessment.

December 8 @ 7PM | How Do We Teach What it Means to be an American?
Abstract: This webinar will be hosted by BRI's Rachel Davison Humphries and author/educator Nichelle Pinkney
. They will share how to teach American citizenship through primary source analysis, writing assignments, discussion prompts, and other activities found in our newly updated Being an American curriculum resource. We will also discuss the new ELL scaffolds created for the curriculum that will help students of all backgrounds understand what it means to be an American.
