Friend, I am so incredibly grateful for you and this entire grassroots team. Together, we protected our must-win seat here in Connecticut and ensured Democrats maintained control of the Senate.
But this election season isn’t over yet: To secure our 51st Democratic vote in the Senate – and with it, a true majority – we must win Georgia’s runoff election and re-elect Sen. Raphael Warnock on Dec. 6.
While control of the Senate is not fully up for grabs in this race, winning another Democratic seat so we can move beyond a 50-50 split chamber would have an enormous impact on our ability to get things done. Right now in the Judiciary Committee, for example, membership is split equally, meaning Republicans only need to vote together to stifle or slow down President Biden’s judicial nominations.
But if we win in Georgia and get an outright Democratic majority, we could put a stop to GOP obstruction on committees. We would be able to confirm more judges at a quicker pace – which is particularly important if we want to rebalance the federal bench after years of Donald Trump and Mitch McConnell’s jamming through unqualified, extremist, and anti-reproductive rights ideologues.
But at the drop of a hat, Mitch McConnell’s super PAC funneled more than $8 million into Georgia – and now a new poll shows Sen. Warnock tied 50-50 with the GOP’s Trump-backed candidate, Herschel Walker.
That’s why I’m coming to you and this team. You know what it takes to protect Senate control and fight GOP megadonors. You’ve done it before. Now, Sen. Warnock needs our help. I said I’d help him raise $10,000 before 11:59 p.m. tonight to fight McConnell’s attacks and keep Georgia blue. Will I see your name on the list of donors who won us the 51st vote in the Senate?
Thank you,
Dick
