December 5, 2022

Dear Georgian,

I have personally received calls from dozens of veterans in my district who are unable to access their prescriptions after the Department of Defense (DoD) restricted TRICARE beneficiaries to only use Express Scripts and cut out most community pharmacies last month.

Our local pharmacies have the drugs these veterans need now, but they are being told that the DoD will make no exceptions to this new rule and cannot access them.
While the DoD drags their feet, veterans are being refused lifesaving medicine because of bureaucratic red tape. This is unacceptable, and an example of why access to community pharmacies is so important.

Our veterans deserve access to care at every corner of the country that they selflessly defended, and my office is working to ensure that every veteran in our district has access to the medicine they need.

If you are a veteran in need of assistance, please reach out to either my Tifton office at (229) 396-5175 or Warner Robins office at (478) 971-1776.

As always, my staff and I are here to help. If you need assistance with a federal agency or have comments or concerns to share with me, please do not hesitate to call my Warner Robins, Tifton, or Washington, D.C. offices. To receive frequent updates, I encourage you to visit my website, like my Facebook page, follow me on YouTube, and follow me on Twitter.

Keep reading for the full update.

Sincerely,

Congressman Austin Scott

Moving to a New D.C. Office

I am excited to announce that our office has moved to a new location in Washington, D.C. We are now located at 2185 Rayburn House Office Building, Washington, D.C., 20515. Our phone number will remain the same, but please send all future letters to that address.

Under Democratic leadership, the House Office Buildings have been closed to the public since the start of COVID-19. When we officially take the majority in January, I look forward to reopening the People's House to everyone.

I hope to see you and your family come by our office for a Capitol Tour next year. To book a tour, please visit our website here.

Sharing Notes from Valdosta Students to Ukraine

My office delivered letters of support from students in Valdosta to the Embassy of Ukraine in D.C. on Tuesday.

Major General Borys Kremenetskyi, Defense Attache of the Embassy of Ukraine in the United States, and Colonel Oleksandr Rozhkov of Ukraine will deliver the letters to soldiers in Ukraine soon.

They were thankful for the letters and appreciated the kind words of encouragement from our young constituents to their freedom fighters.

Asking Biden to Hold CCP-Affiliated Companies Accountable

Companies affiliated with the Chinese Communist Party are a danger to our national security, especially the controlled maritime data-sharing platform LOGINK.

This company collects sensitive data to increase insight and influence over international maritime trade, port infrastructure, and potentially U.S. military activities.

I joined colleagues in sending a bicameral letter to President Biden flagging this national security threat and asked what the administration plans on doing about it.
