Dear John,

Don’t fall for the disinformation campaign. We won’t have a Democrat Speaker in January. Period.

Democrats will give all 212 of their votes to their newly-elected leader Hakeem Jeffries. No Republican will vote for Hakeem Jeffries. Democrats simply cannot get the 218 votes needed to elect a Speaker.

However, now is not the time to have weak Republican leadership. Now is the time to elect bold leadership for the party and for the nation. Unfortunately, that is not Kevin McCarthy, who didn’t do anything during my first term to earn my vote for Speaker. So I am joining others in opposing him so that we can bring real change to Washington.

The American people are struggling to buy gas and groceries. Our schools are failing our children, with many focused on dangerous anti-American or harmful transgender ideology, instead of academic excellence in reading, writing, and math. Our businesses are suffering under the crushing burden of never-ending federal mandates and regulations. Our border is being invaded by hundreds of thousands of illegal aliens every month. Our military is being weakened by unconstitutional vaccine mandates and woke indoctrination.

This is a result of the Biden Administration, and failed leadership from our own party. These past two years, Kevin McCarthy has not supported our efforts to block passage of the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) to stop the vaccine mandates on our military. He has not supported our efforts to end earmarks. He has not led us by denying any Republican votes for massive Democrat spending bills, such as the $1.2 trillion phony infrastructure bill.

Critics and McCarthy allies in the media are saying that I’m not being a team player. But I’m on YOUR team, not the status quo Washington uni-party team, and that’s what they don’t understand.

Kevin McCarthy wants to be the Speaker of the House, after he spent millions of dollars trying to defeat conservatives in Republican primaries---money that could have been used to defeat more Democrats in the general election!

He put his thumb on the scale in primary races---against the will of Republican voters like you---and spent money to elect those who promised to support him for Speaker!

We need leaders who aren’t going to sell out Americans to special interests. We need leaders who won’t compromise our values. We don’t need Kevin McCarthy. We know what we would get with him---just look at the last two years, when Republican leadership was absent from the fight!

I didn’t come to Washington to make backroom deals. I came to Washington to fight for you.
