Dear Activist,

A couple weeks ago someone tried to hack my website and sent over 70,000 bogus emails into my email system and a week later the email server is now crashing on a regular basis. Although I added numerous additional security layers to my website’s virtual server (at an additional $80/month cost), it’s possible that that attack also affected my email server, which is a completely different system run by a different company.

The developer of the email program has tried to fix the issue and I now have a trouble ticket open with the company that owns the email server where the problem email server is located.

I am hoping that this can get repaired because when it works, it works quite well. When the server goes down you will not be able to access any links in previous emails because of the way I set up those links. You will need to wait for a while until I notice that the server is down (I get no warnings) and I reboot it from my end - check back and try agan later.

So, for THIS EMAIL, I have set up the links so that they will work even if the server goes down (well, at least I hope that is the case!). And, I do have a backup system already in place should my current email system continue to fail. :)
