The Pitfalls of the 'Social Cost of Carbon'

[link removed]

James Broughel | The Hill

Trump Just Stopped Hitting America's Head with a Trade-War Hammer

[link removed]

Bruce Yandle | The Washington Examiner

It is worth celebrating last week's breakthrough in the ongoing trade dispute between the US and China. Esther Duflo on Management, Growth, and Research in Action

[link removed]

Esther Duflo and Tyler Cowen | Conversations with Tyler

Esther Duflo advises governments on how best to reduce poverty, having co-founded one of the leading policy research centers in the world. For that work, together with that of frequent collaborators Abhijit Banerjee and Michael Kremer, she has now been honored with the Nobel Prize. She joined Tyler to discuss her findings, including how coaching increases the effectiveness of cash transfers, why she cautions against falling in love with growth rates, the management philosophy behind her success building J-PAL, how she briefly became the face of an anti-Soviet revolution, the underlooked reasons behind the decline of geographic mobility in the US, and more.

[link removed]

Robert F. Graboyes | Inside Sources

Health care can be difficult to obtain for many Americans. This has little to do with whether or not they have insurance, but rather the distribution of medical resources, the patient's environment, and barriers to innovation. Rural counties can lack a doctor, hospitals and emergency rooms. Some face language barriers, long travel times, and possible loss of wages if they miss work to see a doctor. What can be done? Congress should explore these methods when looking for policy solutions to improve health care delivery.
