John,

Many have reached out to ask my thoughts about November's election, and while
I sometimes feel like a broken record, I feel the same way I've felt for a long
time now.

America would be better served if our leaders looked for ways to work together
rather than seeking ways to tear each other down. It's pretty simple if you
think about it, but it's so rare these days that I feel many have given up hope
that it's even possible.

Republicans did not win the large majority in the U.S. House and did not win
the majority in the U.S. Senate because they largely decided to oppose
President Biden and his agenda without providing any meaningful agenda and
ideas to do something different.

It's one thing to complain about something or criticize it, but if you don't
have a better idea and you're not willing to put in the hard work to get
something done, then you're just making noise for the sake of winning at all
costs.

It's also pretty obvious that President Trump played a big role in these
electoral losses, as he often does, by recruiting fringe candidates that can't
win general elections. It happened in 2018, 2020 and again this year.

It's good to see some folks finding their courage and finally saying that out
loud when their silence has been deafening these last six years or so. When
they had a chance to stop this plague on our party, they were either silent or
complicit and we've all been paying a heavy price since.

I'll be honest with you - I don't know what the future holds, but I am
confident that Donald Trump will not be our president again. He can run if he
wants, and if too many other candidates run again and split the vote, he may
well win the Primary, but he will not become president. Americans have seen
enough of that chaos.

By winning a very narrow majority in the U.S. House, the Republicans have a
real opportunity to fight for a conservative agenda. There will be a temptation
for House Republicans to do a tit for tat and launch new investigations, but
that doesn’t lend itself to serving our country. Instead, they need to reach
across the aisle to find compromise on meaningful issues facing our nation.
Getting 80% of what you want is still winning now matter how hard some try to
convince you otherwise.

Are they up to the challenge? I hope they shock us all by finding ways to work
together to make progress. Time will tell which path they choose.

Thank you for all that you do to lift those around you and help others. I am
thankful for you!

Sincerely,

-John
