John, with the special election in Georgia almost here, we thought a quick recap would be in order:

• Democrats have gained two governor seats, defended our Senate majority, and even have the potential to expand it in Georgia on Tuesday!

• Republicans hijacked the House thanks to their extreme gerrymandering
  
  

It’s clear that all of our hard work to get out the vote paid off. Keeping the Senate and picking up governor seats is big. Unfortunately, our hard work didn’t pay off in the House where Republican dirty work stacked the deck in their favor.

We win by motivating people to defend American ideals like democracy and human rights. Anti-American MAGA Republicans win by rigging the system against itself in order to make it harder to vote and easier for them to carve districts that silence the voice of the people.

With Trump loyalists seizing the House, they now have an effective veto on President Biden’s legislative agenda. There’s little doubt that a Trumpist House will move quickly to squash the Jan 6th Committee. MAGA-Republicans are already plotting sham investigations.

Expect the next two years to be a return to the same type of obstructionist gridlock that Republicans forced onto Obama’s presidency. Fortunately, we defended the Senate with an opportunity to expand control in Georgia. So the GOP’s ability to impose dysfunction will be limited to the House.

Georgia's special election means this cycle isn’t quite over, but we absolutely need to hit the ground running in preparation for 2024. First, we help Rev. Warnock defend his Senate seat against the uniquely unqualified Herschel Walker.
