Indivisibles,
August recess (also known as the congressional district work period, or
when your members of Congress work from back home in the district) is
underway for members of the House, and Senators will be home for the month
starting next week. They’ll be home until Monday, September 9. That means
right now is the best time for you to show up on your home turf to make
your voice heard on the issues that matter to you, and we’ve got the tools
to help. Whether it’s launching a formal impeachment inquiry or unwinding
Trump’s racist deportation and detention machine, we’ve got toolkits to
help you take action and pressure your members of Congress (MoCs) to do
the right thing -- you can find all of them in the to-dos below.
On top of that, the next Democratic debates are tomorrow and Wednesday in
Detroit starting at 8 PM Eastern time! Make sure to follow along both
nights using our [ [link removed] ]debate watch guide, and share your thoughts in real
time with us on Twitter by tagging @IndivisibleTeam. And finally, make
sure to opt-in to our post-debate focus group by texting DEBATES to
977-79; participating is the best way to share your opinion about which
candidates improved their standing with Indivisibles because of their
performance, and who needs to do better.
Now let’s get to it.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
Your 5 weekly to-dos
1. Opt-in to our exclusive Indivisible Focus Group by texting DEBATES to
977-79. We want to capture the Indivisible movement’s take on the
debates as soon as they’re over -- which means we’ll need an exclusive
focus group that we’ll text right after each debate ends (11pm ET) to
ask you how you feel.
2. [ [link removed] ]Sign up for the August National Call on Thursday, August 1. Join us
for our monthly National Activist call. This month we’ll be debriefing
the debates, talking about August recess, and looking ahead to a
September week of action on immigration. All group leaders, group
members, and other Indivisible activists are welcome.
3. [ [link removed] ]Share your thoughts on democracy reform in our new survey. In case
you missed Ezra and Leah’s message last week, we are asking
Indivisibles to provide feedback on what saving our democracy looks
like for you, and the types of reforms you want to prioritize. We’ll
plan to share the results next month, and incorporate them into our
future campaign planning.
4. [ [link removed] ]Tell your MoC to join the growing chorus of members calling for an
impeachment inquiry. Over a dozen MoCs have announced their support
for opening an impeachment inquiry into Trump since Special Counsel
Mueller testified to Congress last week, and that number is sure to
keep growing. An impeachment investigation is the best way to
guarantee that we learn the truth about Trump’s crimes and corruption;
tell your MoC to support a full impeachment investigation today!
5. [ [link removed] ]Check out our new toolkit to fight back against Trump’s racist
deportation machine. We heard from Indivisibles that you wanted more
ways to fight back against Trump’s hateful immigration policies, so
last week we released a new toolkit to help you take action. It’s
packed with tactics, tips, and tools to make your voice heard -- make
sure to take a look!

2020 and you!
Debate week is here again! This Tuesday and Wednesday, we get another
opportunity to see the Democratic candidates take the stage (this time in
Detroit) to make the case for themselves in this primary. We’ll be
following along online and on the ground to track their responses and get
your live reactions.
→ [ [link removed] ]Our debate watch guide and workbook has been updated! This resource
is now online as a fillable PDF that can be populated with content and
then printed. It’s also been updated for the new candidates participating
in this month’s debates and contains an additional issues grid to track
the candidates on your priorities! Be sure to check it out and post
pictures of your group using it during the debates!
→ [ [link removed] ]Pay attention to who’s following the pledge -- and who’s not --
during the debates this week. Our We Are Indivisible Pledge has been a
unifying tool for our movement and the Democratic field in this primary.
This week, as candidates look to improve their standings or protect their
status, keep an eye on who is engaging constructively to build a
progressive win, and who isn’t. Every candidate on the stage Tuesday night
is an Indivisible Pledge signer; on Wednesday, all but three candidates
(Gabbard, Yang, and Bennet) have signed on.

Stickers -- Last Chance!
We’re in the midst of rolling out some super ambitious plans and tools,
and the hard truth is that many of these things can’t be done for cheap --
not if we want to do them right. They’ll require sustained support over
weeks and months to succeed. And one of the best ways for us to make those
plans is to know that Indivisibles like you have our backs with monthly
donations.
We’re hoping you’re as all in as we are, so for a limited time only, we’re
excited to offer Indivisible stickers to everyone who makes a monthly
donation of any amount on this page before the end of the day on July
31st:
[ [link removed] ]Can we send you an Indivisible sticker? Just start a monthly donation
of any amount (our average monthly gift is about $15) here by midnight on
7/31 and we’ll send you a free thank-you sticker!

IndivisWin of the Week
[ [link removed] ][IMG]We’re only days away from the next Democratic debate; a little
over a month away from the fight to Defund Hate and unwind Trump’s
deportation machine; and a little over a year away from electing the next
president. Make sure you get the most out of August by using our tools to
advocate for the things you care about and learn more about the candidates
who are hoping to replace Trump, and remember -- we’re all in this
together.
In solidarity,
The Indivisible Team
