Lesko Elected to Influential Republican Steering Committee

This week, I was honored to be elected to serve as the Region 13 Representative on the House Republican Steering Committee. The Committee determines who will serve as Chairman of the committees and also determines which committees individual Republican members will serve on. Region 13 consists of Arizona, Nevada, Utah, and Wyoming. I was pleased to serve as the Republican Leader Designee last Congress, and I am grateful for the opportunity to continue to serve the House Republican Conference on the Steering Committee. I look forward to working with my colleagues to advance the Republican agenda to get our nation back on track.

GET THE FACTS: President Biden's Anti-American Energy Agenda

This week, President Biden authorized Chevron to pump oil in Venezuela after previously looking to scale down sanctions on Venezuela. However, Venezuelan oil is not as clean as U.S.-produced oil, according to the 2022 Global Gas Flaring Tracker Report. This is unfortunately not the first time President Biden has looked to foreign adversaries to produce more oil. President Biden previously begged OPEC+ nations, which include Iran and Russia, to abandon their plan to cut their oil production by 2 million barrels a day. Meanwhile, the Biden Administration is currently sitting on over 4,400 pending Applications for Permits to Drill and recently proposed new rules on oil and gas drilling on federal lands. In the new majority, I am committed to working with my House Republican colleagues to stop these anti-American energy policies and lower energy prices for Arizonans.

Casework Highlight

A constituent contacted our office after a change to his marital status occurred, and his Federal benefits did not increase as required by law. Our office contacted the U.S. Department of Labor and corrected the error. The constituent received a onetime payment catch up and was able to ensure his future monthly payments were correct.
