I know a lot of people are worried about Donald Trump now that he’s announced his 2024 campaign for President.
 
But we cannot lose sight of what’s happening NOW in 2022: Majorie Taylor Greene’s takeover of the Republican party. 
 
Here’s why… Kevin McCarthy needs to shore up 218 votes in order to secure the Speaker’s gavel – and he can’t do that without the votes of Marjorie Taylor Greene and other far-right extremists in Congress. So in order to get their support, he has to do their bidding. 
 
He’s already promised to restore Marjorie Taylor Greene’s committee assignments. What else is he promising her behind the scenes?
 
John, it’s clear that the increasingly dangerous right wing is only getting stronger in the House. The fight over our democracy isn’t waiting until 2024… it’s playing out right now in the halls of Congress. I am going to continue fighting back and I’m hoping there are enough Republicans with the guts to stand up to these MAGA extremists.
