John,
In one month, Cori will be sworn into the 118th United States Congress. But Cori’s not wasting any time, because come January — the GOP will have control of the House.
Right now, we’ve got to continue the momentum toward the finish line to deliver on promises and keep our commitments. That's why Cori is working to ensure we abolish the filibuster and deliver these policies for our communities:
1️⃣ Pass the Women’s Health Protection Act
Reproductive freedom was on the ballot and won! This is a mandate from voters across the country to continue prioritizing protecting reproductive rights and saving lives. We can make a real difference by passing the Women’s Health Protection Act.
2️⃣ Protect Voting Rights
The attacks on our democracy through voter ID laws, ballot roll purges, and disinformation campaigns are disproportionately threatening Black and brown voters. We must work toward achieving equity in our government and ensuring all communities have a voice and vote in our democracy.
3️⃣ Ban on Assault Weapons
On average, there are 40,620 gun violence deaths in this country annually. We have to take action to slow this senseless violence. Each day that the Senate fails to pass the Assault Weapons Ban Act is another day our loved ones die.
4️⃣ Take Immediate Climate Action
In recent history, record-breaking catastrophic climate disasters have become the norm. We must invest in climate action NOW through legislation like the Green New Deal and the Green New Deal for Cities.
5️⃣ Protect Our DREAMers
For DREAMers in St. Louis and nationwide — the Senate must take action and pass the American Dream and Promise Act before the end of the 117th Congress.
Cori’s priorities are all about us, John. She’s relying on our support to help spread her message and raise awareness about the important issues above and bring new issues to the table in the 118th Congress. Will you chip in $5 to help power Cori’s work?
In solidarity,
Lynese Wallace
