BREAKING: It has been reported that the Trump administration will officially release new proposed rules
tomorrow for federal agencies
to ignore climate change considerations as part of environmental impact reports, among other rollbacks.
The change is to the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) — one of our bedrock environmental laws. Under the law and current rules, agencies must analyze how projects will affect endangered species, water quality, greenhouse gas emissions, and more.
This has huge, HUGE implications, but the change hasn't taken effect — yet. We may only have a 30-day window for public comment before it can be finalized.
We need to get this reversed — now, before it's too late.
We need your help, friend. A major donor has agreed to contribute $500,000 to fund environmental campaigns like this one — IF 10,000 LCV members pitch in first.
We're asking every LCV member for help. If everyone reading this right now pitched in — even $5 —
we'd blow through that goal in minutes.

Friend — in reaching that goal, small donations count the same as big ones. Renewing your membership for just $5 could make the difference between funding some major environmental campaigns this year, or totally scaling back.
AND, if you make a donation of $35 or more, you'll get your choice of one of these awesome t-shirts to show your environmental pride:
Here's where things stand:
2020 JANUARY MEMBERSHIP DRIVE
- GOAL: 10,000 donations
- PROGRESS: 10% to goal
A donor will give $500,000 if we meet our goal.
Can you confirm your membership status?
FOR IMMEDIATE REVIEW:
Please confirm your membership.
I hope we can count you in. The National Environmental Policy Act is the law that blocked Keystone XL during the Obama administration. More recently, it blocked major gas leases in Wyoming and coal mining efforts on public lands around the country.
We can't let Trump completely gut NEPA without a fight — but the window to stop him is short. And right now, resources are running low — we need your help.
Don't sit this one out, friend. Renew your LCV membership for just $5 today »
Thank you — for everything you do for the environment.
Sincerely,
Adam, Brooke, Casey, ChiQuita, Elizabeth, Eric, Jim, Julie, Levi, Mike, Rachel, Sammi, and Vinnie
