Friend,
At midnight this Friday, I'll stop fundraising for months as Washington state's legislative fundraising freeze begins.
I have a long list of priorities for this session, from fighting the climate crisis to continuing to tackle homelessness here in Washington state. At the top of that list is enshrining the right to choose into our state's constitution.
But while our fundraising efforts are frozen, far-right anti-choice groups can raise and spend millions in an all-out-attack on reproductive rights here in Washington. We can't afford to be caught flat-footed. So, our team has set a bold fundraising goal: $50,000 before the freeze, this Friday at midnight.
Ahead of this crucial deadline, I'm humbly asking: Will you make a contribution of $10 right now, so we can hit our $50,000 Beat the Freeze goal, protect reproductive rights, and keep moving Washington state forward?
To be crystal clear: Washington state's fundraising freeze isn't a bad thing. Elected officials, myself included, should be focused on what we got elected to do: passing laws that protect and improve the lives of all Washingtonians.
But while we dedicate this legislative session to making progress in our state, far-right groups can raise and spend millions of dollars lying to the people of Washington and try to stop us from doing our jobs. And make no mistake, they've been successful halting pro-choice legislation in states even more blue than Washington.
All the while, we can't raise a penny.
So, here's the situation: To have the resources on-hand needed to get this done in the face of the outrageous out-of-state attacks we know are coming, we've got to raise $50,000 before Friday. It's just our unfortunate reality this winter.
Please, I'm asking you directly: Chip in $10 today toward our $50,000 goal, so we can hit our Beat the Freeze goal together.
As always, I am so grateful for your support.
Very truly yours,
Jay
