We're getting corporate America to radically change the way it does business—rapid adopting of clean energy, reinventing the way food is grown, and protecting workers worldwide.
Our economic action has made extraordinary progress in 2022! #1 Big news for the climate! We successfully pushed AT&T and Verizon to make some of the largest corporate purchases of renewable energy in the US. In 2023, we’ll drive even larger corporate purchases of wind and solar, and push for communities most harmed by dirty energy to benefit the most. Over 100,000 people have taken our “Cool It!” action against Walmart to curb HFCs, climate super-pollutants, from its stores’ refrigeration systems, and Walmart pledged to phase them out by 2040. Now, we are putting pressure on Kroger! #2 We are working to make ALL agriculture regenerative. Our Regenerative Ag work is breathtaking—not only are farmers putting carbon back into the soil, improving biodiversity, and producing more nutritious food—they are more profitable. The farmers in our Soil Carbon Initiative represent over 3 million acres! In 2023, we’ll work to shift millions more acres to regenerative. At the community level, we’ve registered nearly 15,000 Climate Victory Gardens— the equivalent of not driving 38 million miles. In 2023, we’ll work to double that! #3 Together, with members like you, we are accelerating economic justice by protecting workers in dangerous supply chains around the world. We’re working with the largest tech companies—including Apple, Dell, and HP—to remove the most toxic chemicals from supplier factories. We launched a safer chemicals commitment program to protect millions of workers. As a Green American, you can be proud that you are a part of this powerful work.
