NLC supporter: This Giving Tuesday, 250 donors helped raise nearly $15,000 to support our 2023 Institute.
It is because of you that we can train 500 new Fellows in 2023 at no-cost to participants.
It is because of you that we can support a network of over 400 volunteers to drive local change in their chapters.
It is because of you that our organization is as strong as ever after 15 years of growth.
Thank you for your continued commitment to progress. Thank you for supporting your local New Leaders Council chapter.
With your gifts, you support a new generation of leaders in 2023 [[link removed]] . While their journeys are just beginning, we’ve seen the impact that NLC has had in our alumni’s lives.
Because of NLC, folx like Sara Lorenzen (NLC Oklahoma ‘20) and Sheba Williams (NLC Virginia ‘20) gain the skills and experience to serve on a non-profit board or start their own non-profit organizations. Leaders like Armando Salud (NLC Sacramento ‘21) can effectively lead his county elections office and alumni like Kari Cooke (NLC New York City ‘11) can lead her city's efforts to expand access and services for those with disabilities.
Because of NLC, folks like Devin Murphy (NLC San Francisco ‘17) and Lucas Ramirez (NLC Silicon Valley ‘13) can run for mayor of their cities - and win. Alumni like Clare Oumou Verbeten (NLC Twin Cities ‘17) can become one of the first Black women to serve in the Minnesota State Senate and Dr. Megan Srinivas (NLC Des Moines ‘18) can become the youngest woman of color in the Iowa State House.
Because of NLC, our alumni are limitless. And because of you, we can sustain the change we seek to make [[link removed]] in our board rooms, state capitals, city halls, and beyond.
Thank you.
Soon, we’ll be sharing more highlights from 2022 in our annual report. You’ll be able to read even more alumni stories, learn about exciting new updates in our organization, and take a deep dive into some of NLC’s most enriching curriculum. Stay tuned!
With much gratitude,
