John, it’s officially the last month of the year, so we wanted to fill you in on what Barbara’s been working on in Congress.

As a trusted progressive leader, Barbara continues to sponsor critical legislation to meet this moment with urgency. Some highlights from Barbara’s busy year include:

✅ Helping shape the expansive Inflation Reduction Act alongside her progressive colleagues — which President Biden signed into law to ensure corporations pay their fair share in taxes.

✅ Introducing the People Over Pentagon Act of 2022 — legislation to reduce the Pentagon’s $700 billion budget and reinvest in our communities.

✅ Advocating on the frontlines to pass the MORE Act in the House and make progress on legalizing cannabis federally and level the playing field for the Black and brown communities most impacted by the failed War on Drugs.

✅ Leading the successful effort to get President Biden to extend the pause on student loan repayments and cancel up to $20,000 for student borrowers.

✅ Reintroducing the CROWN Act to end race-based hair discrimination — despite opposition from Barbara’s Republican colleagues, the bill successfully passed in the House.

✅ Standing firm in the fight to protect abortion access by helping pass The Women’s Health Protection Act. Barbara was even arrested for protesting outside of the Supreme Court following the overturning of Roe v. Wade this year.
