This holiday season, corporate lobbyists are pressing Congress for a massive tax break while they rake in record profits that are driving up inflation.

Meanwhile, millions of children in the United States are living in poverty and families are struggling to pay rent and put food on the table in the face of rising costs.

Before considering tax breaks for the biggest corporations, Congress should help families across the country by renewing the Child Tax Credit and the Earned Income Tax Credit.

SIGN ON TO ADD YOUR VOICE: "We strongly urge Congress to put children first by extending the monthly Child Tax Credit and Earned Income Tax Credit which lapsed last year. Corporations shouldn’t get any special tax breaks while families are left behind."

We are speaking daily with progressive leaders in Congress about this issue and will share public support for this petition so they can keep their colleagues informed.

The Child Tax Credit monthly payments kept 3.7 million children from poverty and reduced child poverty by 30 percent. The expanded Earned Income Tax Credit helped about 17 million workers receive an average of $700 more than under the previous credit. These policies will help millions of people across this country and are popular across partisan lines.

Congresswoman Pramila Jayapal and nearly 60 progressives in Congress are urging Speaker Nancy Pelosi and Majority Leader Chuck Schumer to insist that Democrats stand strong against corporate tax giveaways in must-pass year-end bills unless Republicans agree to pair them with help for children and families.

If you agree that Congress should prioritize children and families over corporate tax breaks, SIGN ON HERE.

Thanks for being a bold progressive.
