Dear John,

November didn't turn out as we hoped, but that doesn't mean we stop pushing for family values in our community. I appreciate you, and I hope that we continue to stay involved in our communities even after the election.

As we move forward, I wanted to let you know about an upcoming meeting that I hope you will attend with me. The Durham School Board is having a meeting this coming Thursday, December 8th, at 5:30 p.m. at the Fuller Administration Building, Room #307, 511 Cleveland Street, Durham, North Carolina 27701. I am planning to arrive at 5:10pm and I hope you will join me.

The agenda for this meeting includes information and discussion on a draft of amended guidelines for gender supports is presented for discussion on updating and strengthening LGBTQ+ and Gender Supports. Most of this policy was pulled from Orange County's policy. The meeting allows for public comment with 3 minutes allotted for each person.

As left-leaning as Durham is, we have to protect our children and the teachers who disagree with these policies, but will have their hands tied if these policies are implemented. Some of the topics are around: children transitioning, pronouns, and bathroom policies.

There is a group on social media that is pushing to add a task force to enforce the policies that would not allow anyone to be part of the task force with "alternative views." They also want teachers to be able to use the curriculum and books they choose without parental permission.

Our religious liberties are on the line, and it's not time to sit on the sidelines. Join me this coming Thursday evening to make your voice heard!
