It is a privilege to serve the 23rd Congressional District of Texas in Congress. Each day, I work to address your concerns and protect our liberties. Please read below for some updates on my recent work representing you in Washington, D.C. and back home in TX-23. THE HAPPENINGS IN CONGRESS Met With the Texas Organization of Rural and Community Hospitals Our district spans over 800 miles. In rural communities throughout TX-23, reliable access to quality healthcare can be difficult to find. Securing crucial resources to increase this access is a top priority of mine in Congress. That’s why I sat down with the Texas Organization of Rural and Community Hospitals to discuss their mission to provide medical services to Texans in rural communities. SPENDING TIME IN TX-23 Hosted Leader McCarthy at the Border Last week, I hosted House Republican Leader McCarthy and 5 of my colleagues at the southern border in El Paso. To date, over 100 Members of Congress from both sides of the aisle have traveled with me to witness the crisis firsthand. While this Administration fails to do their job and secure our nation, House Republicans showed up on Thanksgiving week to express gratitude and support for our Border Patrol agents on the front lines. I will continue to support our men and women in green on their mission to keep our borders safe. NATIONAL HEADLINES Joined America’s Newsroom to Discuss the Consequences of Repealing Title 42 Communities across our district are bracing for the consequences of Title 42 ending on December 21st. Since this announcement, thousands of migrants have arrived at our border in anticipation of the deadline later this month. Prematurely removing existing policies without a viable contingency plan is a recipe for disaster. We must implement common sense solutions like bolstering technology at the border, thoroughly enforcing the rule of law, and ending catch and release. Watch my full interview on America’s Newsroom here. Discussed Mental Health on the Frontlines of the Border Crisis Every day, our men and women in green are pushed to their limits handling horrific and stressful situations along our borders. In just three weeks, three Border Patrol agents have taken their own lives. Under this administration, the work of Border Patrol agents has been excruciating, and they are receiving little to no help. We must ensure adequate mental health services for our agents to facilitate their daily operations. Read the full article here. My team and I are always available to assist you.
