Good Morning Friend,

We are starting off this year with a huge push for affordable healthcare
in our state. On January 30, 2020, we will be showing our support for
SB276, an act that will direct our state Legislature to conduct a study
concerning the cost of prescription drug prices in Nevada.

In 2019, pharmaceutical companies increased prices for vital medications
by an average of 10.5% or FIVE times the rate of inflation ([ [link removed] ]CBS News).
While many believe that yearly price hikes can be attributed to the rising
cost of Research and Development, that’s simply not true. Drug companies
spend more money on marketing than they do R&D ([ [link removed] ]Washington Post).

I am doing this work because Big Pharma’s decisions impact ME. A
medication I use went up 7.6% and we’re not even a month into the year.

I will be at the SB276 hearing advocating for all of us: Retirees,
hardworking parents, hospitality workers… The ones impacted by Big
Pharma's decision to raise prices.
