Our Border is Under Attack

Our country's national security is at risk. Our Border Patrol agents are overwhelmed and do not have the resources they need to do their jobs due to the Biden Administration's open-border policies and rhetoric. In October alone, there were over 230,000 border encounters, setting an all-time record. This is unacceptable.

President Biden continues to pass the buck, allowing communities across the country to be invaded. House Republicans are ready to hold the Biden Administration accountable and secure the border to ensure our families and communities are safe.

Today is World Nuclear Energy Day, a day to celebrate nuclear energy and all the men and women who make it happen around the globe.

In Central Washington, we have some of the best researchers and technicians in the industry developing cutting-edge technology and conducting innovative research, with the Hanford Site, Pacific Northwest National Laboratory, and Energy Northwest leading the way.

Nuclear energy is clean energy, and I am proud to represent and support such an energy-diverse district!

Supply Chain Issues are Threatening Our Food Security

Supply chain issues continue to threaten our food and economic security, and have placed a heavy strain on Americans' budgets. High agricultural input costs have caused food prices to skyrocket, a result of labor shortages and increasing energy costs.

Common sense solutions, like the Farm Workforce Modernization Act and opening up American energy production, will lower food costs and provide relief to farmers and families. It is past time we address the inflation crisis and secure our economy and food supply chain.

Diesel Shortage Imperils Rural Communities Most

Last week, the Energy Information Administration (EIA) reported that distillate inventories (which include diesel) were at their lowest levels since 1951-currently we only have a 27-day supply remaining. That means if all production is halted and we maintain our current usage, we will run out of diesel fuel in 27 days.

Beavert, or Tuxámshish, was at the museum to sign copies of ”Anakú Iwachá: Yakama Legends and Stories,” an expanded collection of foundational Yakama stories she edited with Michelle Jacob and Joana Jansen. It’s the second edition of “Anakú Iwachá, The Way It Was,” an important educational and cultural resource published in 1974.

The introduction of grizzly bears would upset our ecosystem and cause undue hardships on agriculture producers, businesses, and families. This is the message I have heard and echoed, time and again, from the rural communities across our district.
