As we face a post-Roe v. Wade America where a small group of un-elected
people are placing our fundamental rights and freedoms in jeopardy, we
need to set 18-year term limits for Supreme Court justices to depoliticize
Supreme Court appointments and restore public confidence in an independent
judiciary.

Lifetime appointments to the highest court in the land are not to be used
as political pawns on either side of the aisle. The American people
deserve better.

The Supreme Court of the United States should be a representative
safeguard for our modern democracy, a method of preventing an overreach of
power by other government bodies for partisan gain. The court should not
be reduced to a battlefield of partisanship each time a new appointment
needs to be made. Eighteen-year term limits would bring stability to the
Supreme Court by making appointments a routine process.
