Today we celebrate Special Education Day
Today we celebrate Special Education Day, a day to commemorate the signing of the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA). While the IDEA seeks to ensure public education is freely available to children with disabilities, along with the services they need to succeed, we know that the law has not lived up to its promise and that we must continue advocating for more support and more funding for our students with IEPs.
Thanks to all of the special educators – both certificated and classified – who go above and beyond for many of our most vulnerable students every day.
Promote strong relationships with families and advocate for your students with strategies, tools and ideas for the classroom and home with this curated collection of free special education resources from Share My Lesson.
