Dear John

January is traditionally the time of new resolutions and plans for change. If yours included finding a new job, please read on, as we have some exciting opportunities! And with all the launches of new vegan products for 2020, perhaps you are thinking of going vegan, or of trying to eat more plant-based meals – if so, we have some tips below. Enjoy!

reindeer

Thank you for your help in making Christmas 2019 more compassionate

Last year, we were busy reaching out to event organisers to make them aware of the negative implications of using live animals, such as reindeer, in festive events. Thank you for giving out leaflets, staging peaceful demonstrations, speaking to event organisers and spreading the word within your local communities. We are aware of at least 58 organisers that moved away from having live reindeer at their events in 2019. We could not achieve the things we do without your active support.

We are also delighted to announce that no reindeer were imported in 2019, as confirmed by a Freedom of Information request.

More than 2,500 people call on Kellogg’s to increase their vegan cereal range!

More than 2,500 people have signed our joint petition with Herbivore Club, calling on cereal giant Kellogg’s to switch the vitamin D they use in their cereals to a vegan version. The vitamin D currently used in most of Kellogg’s products is an animal-derived version of vitamin D3. This comes from a substance called lanolin, which is found in sheep’s wool. This simple swap would massively increase the vegan cereal options available on the shelves.

If you haven't already, please sign the petition now!
