Second, as we know, we are entering a dangerous period for renters. The large-scale rental assistance program is over and moratoriums on evictions are ending in most places. ACCE members in cities across the state continue to fight for, and win, strong local tenant protections. But so much of the state is still unprotected.



We are launching a campaign to win Rent Control and “Just Cause” Eviction protections for ALL RENTERS in the state. We won’t get all the way there in one year, but we hope to at least make progress in 2023 in expanding rent increase and eviction protections from where they are now.



Some of you are still waiting for the government rent help that was promised. Settlement discussions are happening in our lawsuit against the state for their failures with ERAP. And we all need to continue pressuring the State with actions, calls and more.



Our power is in our numbers! A little by little we are winning.

En segundo lugar, como sabemos, estamos entrando en un período peligroso para los inquilinos. El programa de asistencia de renta a gran escala ha terminado y las moratorias sobre los desalojos están terminando en la mayoría de los lugares. Los miembros de ACCE en ciudades de todo el estado continúan luchando y ganando fuertes protecciones para los inquilinos locales. Pero gran parte del estado todavía está desprotegido.



Estamos lanzando una campaña para obtener protecciones de control de alquileres y desalojo por “causa justa” para TODOS LOS INQUILINOS en el estado. No llegaremos hasta allí en un año, pero esperamos al menos progresar en 2023 en la expansión del aumento de la renta y las protecciones contra desalojos desde donde están ahora.



Algunos de ustedes todavía están esperando la ayuda de renta que prometió el gobierno. Se están llevando a cabo negociaciones para llegar a una resolución de nuestra demanda contra el estado por sus fallas con ERAP. Y todos tenemos que seguir presionando al Estado con acciones, llamados y más.



¡Nuestro poder está en nuestros números! Poco a poco vamos ganando.
