Things are busy here at the State Freedom Caucus Network. Here are some of the things we’re working on:

* We helped launch the Pennsylvania Freedom Caucus earlier this week. It received tons of coverage. One headline read ([link removed]) , “The new Pennsylvania branch of the House Freedom Caucus is open and ready for business.” Another one ([link removed]) : “More compromise with Dems? Not if new Pennsylvania Freedom Caucus has its way”.


* Pennsylvania is now our 8^th state freedom caucus. To see the public members of the PAFC and the other states we’re in, please check out our website ([link removed]) .


* But our favorite was this reaction ([link removed]) from a liberal Democrat: “This is bonkers. This is the most radical, most extreme members of the Republican Caucus banding together, insisting to stall any type of progress,” said Representative Ryan Bizzarro (D-Erie). “What we saw today with the announcement of the Freedom Caucus was nothing more than a cry for attention and a cry for help of a failing Republican caucus that has no direction moving forward. This was nothing more than the grievance caucus.”


* Pennsylvania Congressman Scott Perry, who’s also the chairman of the House Freedom Caucus in DC, was in attendance to help introduce the PA Freedom Caucus. He said ([link removed]) , “We stand for the millions of Americans who feel that government, state capitols, federal capitols have left them behind and they don’t have a voice. We’re bringing that voice.”

* The Arizona Freedom Caucus is fighting Maricopa County for their botched handling of the 2022 midterm elections…and they are rightfully demanding resignations. “After taking an absurd and unnecessary amount of time to count ballots, we are now finding Maricopa County election officials may not merely be incompetent but may also be criminals,” said AZFC Chairman, State Rep. Jake Hoffman in a statement ([link removed]) .


* Hoffman did interviews with Steve Bannon’s WarRoom ([link removed]) and with The Charlie Kirk Show ([link removed]) . More from Hoffman: “What they have done is evil. It is vindictive. And according to the Attorney General it is illegal. The AG's office has outlined a litany of allegedly illegal violations of Arizona election law. This election must not be certified until an exhaustive investigation and complete adjudication of the issues has been permitted to occur.”


* The Illinois Freedom Caucus is calling for an end of the “consent calendar”. This may seem like a boring legislative issue, but it’s a very big deal. Big spending politicians love to pass bills through the “consent calendar”. It lets them bundle a ton of bills together and pass them by a single vote. This also means very little debate and little ability to make amendments. This one single move by the ILFC could shut down the consideration and passage of a lot of bad legislation.


* From their statement ([link removed]) , “There is nothing wrong with voting on ceremonial legislation on a single roll call, but substantive bills need to be stricken from the Consent Calendar. It is certainly easier to vote on hundreds of bills on one roll call vote, but this process is not in the best interest of the people of Illinois. Substantive bills deserve individual roll calls so that members are completely aware of the full implication of their votes. The people of Illinois expect legislators to do their jobs and debating and voting on legislation is part of the job. It is time to stop taking the easy way out. It is time to end the Consent Calendar for substantive legislation.”
