Friend – I may work at DAGA, but I consider myself a Swiftie first and foremost (sorry to my boss, Geoff). Unfortunately, I was one of the millions of people locked out of Ticketmaster as I tried to purchase tickets to her tour.
You may be wondering why I’m bringing this up. Well first, I need to vent and have been given this outlet. And also, to put it quite bluntly: Ticketmaster has a lot of questions that they need to answer to customers. And Attorneys General are investigating this issue so it won’t happen again.
During the Ticketmaster fiasco, AG offices across the country received an unprecedented amount of calls for help – and they answered. Josh Stein in North Carolina, Aaron Ford in Nevada, and Josh Shapiro in Pennsylvania are all launching investigations into Ticketmaster for alleged deceptive or unfair trade practices.
As Taylor herself once said, “Karma’s a relaxing thought.” So when Dem AGs see consumers struggling, they act. They don’t leave us hanging in the queue, like some companies... While we don’t know how the numerous investigations will play out, and I write this email somewhat in jest to cope – this has proven to be an incredibly tangible example of what AGs can do in favor of wronged consumers. Dem AGs have our backs when it comes to fraud, monopolies, extreme price increases, robocalls, consumer abuse, and more.
