John, Thanks to generous supporters like you, we made history by holding the Senate this November! Because of your determination and support, the “red wave” simply didn’t happen in the House, with the GOP having a razor-thin majority. When we continue to be proactive, we accomplish so much together. That’s why I want to recognize you, John. We should feel proud that our efforts are creating a government that is more representative of American families than ever before.

The first African-American woman in Wisconsin history to serve in the U.S. House of Representatives, Congresswoman Gwen Moore, took her official oath of office on January 4, 2005. She served in the Wisconsin State Senate from 1993-2004. Before her election to the Senate, Congresswoman Moore served two consecutive terms in the Wisconsin State Assembly from 1989-92. |
