** LGBTQ youth in juvenile correctional facilities at high risk for suicide and self-harm
------------------------------------------------------------
Using data from the Minnesota Student Survey, a statewide population survey of youth, researchers from UCLA, Vanderbilt, Brown, and Yale Universities examined the mental health experiences of LGBTQ and non-LGBTQ youth in juvenile correctional facilities and public schools. Results show that LGBTQ youth are disproportionally represented in juvenile correctional facilities, and they face a significantly greater risk of suicidal ideation, suicide attempt, and self-harm compared to all other groups.

** Last chance to fill out the 2022 U.S. Trans Survey
------------------------------------------------------------

The U.S. Trans Survey was first conducted in 2015 to document the lives and experiences of trans and nonbinary people ages 16+ in the U.S. It is the largest survey of transgender people in the country and has provided the underlying data for numerous Williams Institute reports on the health and well-being of transgender people.

The Williams Institute's Reid Rasmussen Senior Scholar of Public Policy Jody Herman returned as Co-Principle Investigator of the 2022 U.S. Trans Survey, developing survey questions that capture an updated and expanded view of the experiences of transgender people across a wide range of areas, such as education, employment, family life, health, housing, and interactions with police and prisons.

The deadline to complete the U.S. Trans Survey is Monday, December 5.
