defeated detractors of the U.S.-Israel relationship in the primaries.
-
Several additional members with poor voting records on our issue have been replaced by a more pro-Israel candidate.
This is a resounding affirmation of our new political strategy.
Please forward this email to share these accomplishments with your friends and family.
In less than a year, AIPAC transformed itself into a major force in electoral politics — helping to ensure that the 118th Congress will be overwhelmingly pro-Israel.
And we couldn't have done it without the support of AIPAC members like you.
Thank you again for your steadfast commitment to keeping Congress pro-Israel and the U.S.-Israel relationship strong.
See below for more stories we are following from this week.
75 Years Since Historic U.N. Vote
This week, 75 years ago, the United Nations voted to fulfill the 2,000-year-old dream of the Jewish people to return to their ancestral homeland.
What happened: On November 29, 1947, the General Assembly overwhelmingly adopted U.N. Resolution 181, commonly known as the “Partition Plan,” which divided the British-controlled territory into two nations: a Jewish state and an Arab state.
-
The Jews accepted the plan, even though it was far from what they had hoped for and left them with no direct access to Jerusalem, the historic capital of the Jewish people; the Arabs rejected the plan and initiated a war of annihilation against the nascent Jewish state.
-
Soon after the resolution passed, on May 14, 1948, Israel formally declared independence within the borders of the Partition Plan, as five Arab armies attacked from all sides.
Why it matters: Adopted with more than two-thirds of the vote, the resolution constitutes the first international recognition in 2,000 years of full Jewish statehood in the ancestral homeland of the Jewish people, demonstrates Israel’s longstanding commitment to living in peace alongside its Arab neighbors, and reminds us of the overwhelming odds our ally Israel has overcome.
-
From its acceptance of the Partition Plan and subsequent peace agreements with Egypt and Jordan to the recent Abraham Accords and Israel's incorporation into CENTCOM, it is clear that a strong Jewish state, backed by America, helps promote peace, security and prosperity in the region and beyond.
The big picture: In less than a century, the Jewish people went from attempted annihilation to miraculously building the only democracy in the Middle East; a thriving, first-world economy; a vibrant and resilient society; and an important American ally.
Iran Continues Murdering Protesters, Advances its Nuclear Program
The Iranian regime continues to violently crack down on peaceful protesters, who have been in the streets demanding basic human rights across Iran for over two months.
-
At least 450 people, including 63 children, have been killed and over 18,000 have been injured and arrested, according to

reports .
- The regime has also begun issuing death sentences to protesters.
Go deeper: The U.N. Human Rights Council this week voted to launch an investigation into the human rights crisis in Iran.
-
A U.N.-appointed independent expert on Iran reported on Tuesday that the repression of protesters was intensifying, citing the "campaign" of death sentences for protesters.
Meanwhile: Iran recently announced that it has begun enriching uranium to 60% at its Fordo underground nuclear facility.
-
“We’re going to make sure we have all options available to the president,” said White House national security spokesman John Kirby.
-
In a joint statement, Britain, France and Germany said Tehran was ramping up uranium enrichment with “no credible civilian justification,” moving “well beyond” limits set down in the JCPOA.
Our view: Standing with the protestors and opposing Iran’s nuclear expansion requires cutting off the regime’s cash flow by fully enforcing sanctions and severing Iran from the international financial and oil markets.

Palestinian terrorism has

- Palestinian gunmen kidnapped the body of

an Israeli Druze teenager from a hospital bed, ripping him off life support. The man's body was retrieved by the IDF and returned to the family.
-
A U.N. agency said it found a tunnel, being used by the terror groups Hamas and Palestinian Islamic Jihad, under a school the U.N. built for Palestinian children.
-

An Israeli soldier was seriously wounded in a car ramming attack north of Jerusalem.
Following the bombings in Jerusalem, the White House “condemn[ed] unequivocally the acts of terror” and reaffirmed that America's “commitment to Israel’s security is ironclad and unbreakable.”
The bottom line: Defeating terrorism is necessary for peace.
-
The Palestinian Authority must end its heinous pay-to-slay program that incentivizes terrorism with hundreds of millions of dollars sent to the families of attackers.

TAKE ACTION : Urge your members of Congress to support the Palestinian International Terrorism Support Prevention Act and the Hamas International Financing Prevention Act.
U.S., Israel Deepen Defense Cooperation
This week, the U.S. and Israeli militaries conducted a series of joint aerial exercises, simulating strikes against Iran and its terror proxies, including a simulated strike on Iran’s nuclear program.
Context: Iran continues to expand its nuclear program and send weapons to American adversaries like Russia and terrorist organizations like Hezbollah.
-
IDF Chief of Staff Lt.-Gen Aviv Kohavi recently said joint activities with the U.S. military in the Middle East would be “significantly expanded,” and said "cooperation against Iran and its terrorist proxies in the region" posed a critical imperative.
-
In early November, Israeli Defense Minister Benny Gantz told reporters that Israel has the capabilities to strike Iran’s nuclear facilities.
Go deeper: Over the last year, the IDF and CENTCOM forces have held several joint drills and meetings.
-
Visiting Washington last month, Kohavi met with Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Gen. Mark Milley, CENTCOM Commander Gen. Michael Kurilla, White House National Security Adviser Jake Sullivan, and other senior American officials.
The bottom line: America and Israel must continue to work together to thwart the threat of Iran and its terror proxies, and ensure Israel has the means to keep its people safe.
