Overview: countering the threat of TikTok, protests erupt in China, Biden
greenlights Venezuelan oil…

John,

All eyes are on Washington as Republicans prepare to take back the majority in
the House –– but Mike isn’t taking his focus off major events happening around
the globe.

Catch up on all Mike has been doing on the foreign policy front lately and
sign the petition <[link removed]> to
support Mike’s push to BAN TikTok over security concerns.

Gallagher Proposes TikTok Ban

<[link removed]>

Bottom Line: "TikTok is digital fentanyl addicting our kids, and just like
actual fentanyl, it ultimately goes back to the Chinese Communist Party. TikTok
is owned by ByteDance. ByteDance is controlled by the CCP. That means the CCP
can track your location, it can track your keystrokes, it can censor your news.
Why would we give our foremost adversary that amount of power? We need to ban
TikTok.”

Mike on China’s Anti-Lockdown Protests

<[link removed]>

Bottom Line: "As the CCP doubles down on oppression, we need to double down on
freedom...We need to embrace American values as a self-evident contrast to the
Orwellian oppression of the CCP. That’s how we win the ideological fight over
the long term.”

Mike on Arming Taiwan Against China

<[link removed]>

Bottom Line: "The lesson of Ukraine is that you need to arm your partners and
allies before the shooting starts. It gives you your best chance of actually
avoiding war in the first place… we need to get to work now with a sense of
urgency.”

Gallagher Tells Iran to Look in the Mirror

<[link removed]>

Bottom Line: "Quite a lot of chutzpah for the world's leading state sponsor of
terrorism to be criticizing us… even on our worst day, people would rather have
the freedom that we enjoy in the United States of America than be subject to
the dictators that we see in Tehran or Beijing.”

Biden Greenlights Venezuelan Oil After Sanctions

<[link removed]>

Bottom Line: "The Treasury Department granted permission Saturday for oil
giant Chevron to produce and export oil from Venezuela following the South
American country’s decision to restart talks with opposition groups. The move
could add supply to the global oil market, which may ease fuel prices and speed
the declines in U.S. gasoline prices that have been a political burden for
President Joe Biden since Russia invaded Ukraine in February.”
