We’ll start with the good news,
John.

We celebrated some major victories at COP27, including:

- President Biden pledged to give $100 million to the Adaptation Fund
- The final COP27 agreement mentions the creation of a fund for losses and
damages from the climate crisis and the U.S. committed to support it

Now for the not-so-great news. While these are important steps in the
right direction, the truth is that they don’t mean anything until we see
the $$.

Can you send a message to President Biden today calling on him to keep his
climate finance promises?

We know that our pressure works,
John. At the start of COP, the
U.S. was reluctant to commit to loss and damage funding – but because of
you, they committed to the historic Loss and Damage Fund.

Together, we finally succeeded in getting rich nations to commit to
compensating communities affected by the climate crisis.

In addition, through our pressure, the U.S. doubled its pledge to the
Adaptation Fund which was established in 2001 to finance concrete
adaptation projects and programs in developing countries that are
particularly vulnerable to the adverse effects of climate change.

Change is possible, but we need your help to hold our leaders accountable.

funds. Can you please send a message to President Biden demanding that the
U.S. fulfill its climate finance pledges immediately?
